Editorial Policy

Top5soft exists to give readers a clear, honest answer before they spend money or time on software. This page explains the rules our editorial team follows.

Independence

No advertiser, sponsor, or affiliate partner gets to see a review before it publishes. Editorial decisions are made independently of the business team. We do not accept payment for positive coverage, and we do not let affiliate commissions influence rankings.

Sourcing and verification

Every claim about a product is grounded in either hands-on testing or a verifiable primary source. When a vendor sends a press release, we verify it before treating it as fact. Quotes are confirmed with the speaker. Numbers come from documented benchmarks, not marketing decks.

Conflicts of interest

If a writer or editor has a financial stake, employment history, or personal relationship that could affect coverage, the conflict is disclosed at the top of the article or the assignment is reassigned.

Corrections

If we get something wrong, we fix it on the same page, add a corrections note explaining what changed and when, and notify any reader who flagged the issue. Reach us at corrections@top5soft.com.

Affiliate links

Some of our links earn us a commission when readers buy. The commission does not change the price paid and does not influence which product we recommend. Full breakdown in our Affiliate Disclosure.

AI use

Articles are written and edited by humans. We may use AI tools for research, fact lookups, or formatting checks, but no article is published as raw AI output. A named editor is responsible for every page.

Reader feedback

Tips, dispute requests, and editorial questions go to editorial@top5soft.com. We read every message.
